So how often do we get stuck upon questions like these "Is packaged fruit juice healthy?" not that often I guess. But I think its important to know the nutrition meter of such fruit juices. So lets discuss about it.
Freshly squeezed juices are very important for our healthy lifestyle. In todays world we rely on packaged food for its easy convenience and consumption. We often get lazy when it comes to squeezing or extraction fresh fruit juice so we choose to buy packaged fruit juices from our nearest super market as they are easily available at most of places.
There are pros and cons in packaged fruit juices like:
PROS- 1. Packaged juices can be stored up to one year.
2. Preserved juices are really good in taste.
3. Easily available and attractive packaging.
CONS- 1. Packaged juices go through heat processes in order to preserve it for longer time. In these process juices loose all of its vitamins.
2. Juices with the label no preservatives are the one from which oxygen is removed. Removing oxygen from fruits and vegetables deteriorate their quality.
3. The tasty and sweet flavor of such preserved juices is done by using artificial flavors and sugars. This artificial favoring is not good for our bodies.
4. Due to sugar content preserved juices are not good for diabetics or heath watchers.
5.It is said that most spoiled fruits are used in industry for such juices.
6. Juice packages saying 100% fruit content actually have 25% fruits in them.
CONCLUSION- Well as you see I was able to list out more con's then pro's answers our question. Some of these packed juices are not really harmful but they are neither healthy. So freshly squeezed fruit juices are the best option. But eating a fruit whole is the healthiest option. For example, One freshly squeezed apple juice has 120 calories on other hand one whole apple has 78 calories.
So eat healthy, stay healthy.
